The Great Wander

Périplo is a "juggling journey” that seeks the poetry hidden in the territories covered. Périplo is an itinerant performance, consisting of stages of performances that take place in the towns and cities it passes through. Périplo is like a continuous performance, which takes place 24 hours a day, designed for a long time. A juggler leaves for several days alongside a guest who will be different each week. This guest can be an artist or a local person with whom the juggler will walk and talk. During this time, the juggler shares what he/she has learnt, what he/she thought, what he/she has rehearsed and created, with everyone who crosses his/her path, as a performative travel diary that is offered to those who encounter him/her.

When the juggler and his/her guest reach a previously scheduled specific point, which could be in Monchique, Aljezur, Odemira and Santiago do Cacém, there will be a performance, a ceremony to reunite with the rest of the company's jugglers. The route and the meetings held will be filmed, documented and shared on our websites and social networks.
